"The Coast Guard traces its hockey roots back to the onset of World War II. It was at the Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore, Maryland that the “Cutters” were formed. This team won several championships in their short time and holds the particular distinction as having seven players go on to the Hockey Hall of Fame and/or American Hockey Hall of Fame. The Coast Guard Hockey Organization is a veteran run federally recognized 501(c)(3) organization established to consolidate Coast Guard hockey programs under one umbrella to support our core values of community, sportsmanship, and tradition. With a focus on community, the Coast Guard hosts three annual Cup tournaments (ice and floor), which are open to players of all levels, both on and off the ice. Additionally, Coast Guard Hockey sponsors participation in various leagues, tournaments, events, and volunteer efforts throughout the United States. Coast Guard Hockey is committed to our service members, their families, and the communities in which they live and serve. "

Worcester Firefighters 6K Memorial Fund

"The Worcester Fire Department Hockey Club is comprised of all active members of the Worcester Fire Department, protecting New England's second largest city. For the 2nd year in a row, we will be playing for the Worcester Firefighters 6K Memorial Fund. The WFD6K Road Race (and 6K Memorial Fund) was started after the devastating loss of our six brothers in the Worcester Cold Storage Fire back on December 3, 1999. Our 4 primary, well deserving charities, that we feel best represent the goals of the WFD6K are NEADS, dogs for deaf and disabled Americans, Genesis Club, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Community Harvest Project"

"We are a team fully comprised of Deputy Sheriffs and Corrections Officers who work out of the Middlesex House of Correction and Jail located in Billerica, MA. We play in various charity tournaments and exhibition games throughout the year. We are glad to be back again for the 2018 Hero's Cup as we had a blast at the tournament last year in 2017. "

"New team, just started last month. Members of Boston EMS who play hockey. We are all EMT and Paramedics. We do have one of the Boston EMS mechanics on the team. We also have some members of the Boston Police on the team from time to time. "


​Westchester Smoke Eaters

"Made up of local volunteer firefighters, police officers and EMTs, the Westchester Smoke Eaters were created in spring of 2014 in the front of an ambulance. The Smoke Eaters have a huge social media following at facebook.com/smokeeatershockey and on instagram @smokeeatershockey. The team has helped raise over $5000 thru charity games in the past and they currently play at the Brewster Ice Arena in their adult league in the C2 division. The Smoke Eaters were named the best beer league firefighter hockey team in 2016 by the Beer League Talk podcast. "
